Reenactor Moment is part of a multimedia project that documents World War II reenactors in the American South, Northeast, and Midwest. Tom Waits famously said "I like beautiful melodies telling me terrible things". As an artist, I enjoy the same. Oddly, the most dangerous qualities of human beings and the most beautiful qualities of human beings both emanate from the same place. The women and men who reenact, assert that “history is a personal thing”. And for them, it may be quite true. Playing Soldier is a documentary film by Ed Gendron on same subject.
